TEAM STRUCTURE
In keeping with the philosophy of providing a quality competitive swimming program for young people of all ages, abilities, and levels of interest, the Dynamo Swim Club offers up to ten levels of professional instruction and training. Each level has specified objectives and goals that follow a logical progression.
 
  1. Entry Level’s
DYNAMO SWIM SCHOOL - This is a lesson program for young, inexperienced swimmers. Emphasis is on teaching the four strokes. Dynamo Swim School is offered at both DCSC and Alpharetta, as well as sattelites Dunwoody Baptist Church and Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church in Buckhead.  The swim school also operates lessons at summer rec and HOA pools.
GREEN - This level is designed to introduce young swimmers into the sport of swimming while allowing maximum opportunity to participate in other activities. Emphasis is on teaching the fundamentals of the four competitive strokes by means of drills and games that make swimming fun. Swimmers in this group may swim in some meets, particularly inter-squad and Dynamo Hosted Events.
GOLD - This group is for youngsters who are ready to learn more advanced stroke techniques. Stroke, start, and turn instruction are introduced. Participation in other activities besides swimming is still encouraged. Swimmers in this group may swim in some meets, particularly inter-squad and Dynamo Hosted Events.
DYNAMO SKILLS CAMPS (AND HOME SCHOOL)-  This program runs on 6 week cycles, for those athletes 11-14, who have play other sports, or other activites, but want to continue to develope skill in the water. 
 
  1. Age Group Levels
AGE GROUP THIRD LEVEL (AGIII) - The first of the progressive age group levels where competitive training is introduced while stroke instruction is still emphasized.  These athletes are mostly 2nd-4th graders.
AGE GROUP SECOND LEVEL (AGII) - This group is a transitional level in which swimmers move from primarily stroke instruction to actual competitive training. Careful attention is still given to stroke technique, but an equal emphasis begins to be placed on learning how to train.  These atheltes are mostly 5th and 6th graders.
AGE GROUP DEVELOPMENT LEVEL (AGD)- This group is for those swimmers, 6th-8th grades, to further develope their strokes before Senior swimming.  Continued skill development, as well as training principles are emphasized. 
AGE GROUP FIRST LEVEL (AGI) - For committed and motivated young swimmers who will emphasize serious training in preparation for higher levels of swimming.
 
  1. Senior Levels
SENIOR THIRD LEVEL (SRIII) – This group provides an opportunity for swimmers to develop and improve skills and fitness levels necessary to train and compete. It is also provides a forum for those swimmers who wish to maintain their interest and involvement in swimming.
SENIOR SECOND LEVEL (SRII) - This group is designed for high school swimmers who are relatively experienced and proficient swimmers who qualify for state and regional level meets, and are working towards the national level. An equal emphasis on conditioning and fundamentals offers the determined swimmer an excellent opportunity to improve rapidly.
SENIOR FIRST LEVEL (SRI) - This group focuses its training and competing efforts at the national level and qualifying for international level meets.  A strong commmittment to swimming is required for entry into this group.
 
  1. MASTERS and Triathletes (DCSC AND ALPHA)
The Dynamo Swim Club Masters Team’s mission is to provide coached workouts in which adult swimmers, of all levels and aspirations, may realize their goals in a progressive and enjoyable team atmosphere. Swimmers range in age from 21 to 70 (the average age is 36). Skill levels range from absolute beginners to former Olympians. Besides providing a challenging workout, coaches provide instruction in proper stroke technique and race strategies. Competition is encouraged, but by no means mandatory. The team attends around 16 events a year. Socializing is a priority with the club and organized socials are held throughout the year.
